Jacob Sharick has construction in his blood. He spent his formative years pitching in at his uncle’s construction company, where he developed a lifelong fascination with the building process. Jacob has performed hundreds of cost segregation studies and is familiar with every type of commercial real estate. While he performed studies on lots of restaurants, retail, and office facilities, he particularly enjoys the challenge of cold-storage centers and heavy manufacturing plants. Jacob also has significant experience in sustainable design and management, holding the designation of CPHD – Certified Passive House Designer.  

Education and Credentials:  

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Pittsburgh  

Experience:  

  • Years of cost segregation experience with one of the Big 4 
  • Sustainable construction design and estimation – ranging from residential and commercial HVAC plans to detailed retrofit concept renderings 
  • “Passive House” design and ground-up construction   
  • Construction loan estimation and feasibility analysis 
  • Project management, supervising a team of 20  

Behind the Scenes: Happily married to his college sweetheart, Jacob is a busy father of four.  In his scant free time, Jacob enjoys running, cooking, and introducing his kids to classic 1980s movies.  He freely admits to loving math, reading The Economist, and considering tax law a “fun hobby.”
