Andrew Murdie
Project Engineer
Andy Murdie is a Project Engineer with Capstan Tax Strategies. Andy brings a wealth of cost segregation experience to the team, having spent nearly a decade as the sole cost segregation analyst for a large commercial developer in the Northeast. In that role Andy performed cost segregation studies and purchase price allocations on nearly every property type in the commercial real estate spectrum. He also implemented a company-wide energy incentive program that resulted in savings in excess of $1M. Energy-efficient construction is a particular interest of Andy’s, and he enjoys helping clients leverage energy incentives to the fullest.
Andy draws on his extensive background in general construction and cost estimation when approaching each project, and prides himself on delivering best-in-class work product even under demanding time frames.
Happily married with three talented children, Andy is very much a “sports dad.” When he’s not out on the ice with the kids for hockey, he’s in the field running drills for soccer. You can also find him on the baseball diamond, where he coaches the team. He doesn’t have a lot of spare time.
Andy holds an Associate’s degree in Sociology from Orange Coast College.
